About OpenCloud Connect

OpenCloud Connect is a global industry alliance founded to address the need for scaling and enhancing Ethernet technology to meet the stringent demands of delivering cloud services. The membership includes systems integrators, NEMs and service providers including leading cloud providers – the eleven founder members being: Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Citrix, Equinix, Huawei, HP, Juniper, PCCW Global, Spirent Communications, Tata Communications and Verizon. The forum’s mission is to help cloud service providers, carriers and enterprises to support cloud services more easily, quickly and economically. OpenCloud Connect is an independent MEF organization.


OpenCloud Connect is a member driven organization and is governed by an elected board of 11 directors. The acting President is James Walker, VP Managed Network Services at Tata Communications and the Chairman is Jeff Schmitz, Executive Vice President at Spirent Communications.

There are two working committees – the Technical Committee and the Marketing & Operations Committee – each with two nominated Co-chairs (representing member companies) report to the OpenCloud Connect board.

OpenCloud Connect works with the bylaws, working practices and IPR policy of the MEF, within whose framework OpenCloud Connect operates.
